It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention protection and preparation as well as the care custody and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody healthcare and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Description of Work

This position is located on the grounds of Harnett Correctional Institution is supervised by the Plant Manager and will directly supervise Administrative Specialist I. The Plant Manager may assign additional duties as needed. The Assistant Manager may also request that this position perform tasks or complete special projects.

The primary purpose of this position is to process usage orders for correctional units and affiliated agencies. This includes releasing orders to print pick tickets (usage orders) for the delivery of commodities and entering these orders into the inventory control addition this position will handle all orders from non-correctional agencies and will prepare delivery tickets for those orders.

Other key responsibilities include:

- Completing the Weekly Processing Reports and Outside Sales Reports
- Updating and distributing Monthly Price Lists
- Maintaining all records related to the above tasks

This position is also responsible for answering all incoming calls to the plant on a multi-line telephone system.

Daily communication with the Administrative Specialist I is required regarding usage orders and to resolve data entry issues or discrepancies.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $39671 - $69426

The Knowledge Skills and Abilities/ Management Preferences are not required. Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Demonstrated work experience utilizing Microsoft office Outlook Excel and Access. Previous work experience in inventory control.

  • General knowledge of office equipment (i.e copier printers scanners etc.) Working knowledge of a multi-line phone system.
