Job Description: Plant Head – India Operations (Bangalore)

Location: Bangalore India Experience: 10–12 years Industry Preference: Cold chain packaging EPS/PU/PV/PS manufacturing paper/packaging thermal insulation products or related industries

Role Overview

The Plant Head will lead the Bangalore manufacturing facility and oversee associated operations in Hyderabad (assembly unit) and Mumbai (warehouse). This role demands a highly technical leader who can build maintain troubleshoot and optimize machinery and production systems—ensuring the plant scales efficiently.

The ideal candidate brings strong handson engineering capability deep understanding of cold chain packaging processes and the ability to drive operational excellence while doubling output with the existing workforce.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Leadership & Engineering Excellence

• Provide strong technical direction across the plant ensuring inhouse capability for machine building integration and troubleshooting.
• Lead decisions on machinery such as hotwire cutting machines bridge filling machines EPS/PU/PV/PS cutting and gluing systems and manual assembly lines.
• Reduce dependency on external vendors by developing internal technical competence.
• Oversee preventive and breakdown maintenance ensuring minimal downtime and high equipment reliability.

2. Plant Operations Management

• Lead endtoend operations of the Bangalore plant including assembling quality maintenance logistics and administration.
• Manage the shop floor ensuring adherence to quality safety and compliance standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance throughput efficiency and cost optimization.

3. MultiSite Oversight

• Supervise the Hyderabad and Mumbai assembly and warehouse operations.
• Ensure alignment of processes inventory accuracy and operational discipline across all locations.

4. People Leadership

• Lead crossfunctional teams including production quality logistics admin and sales support.
• Mentor and upskill teams to strengthen technical capability and operational maturity.
• Collaborate with the existing operations manager while providing the technical backbone for the plant.

5. Business & Performance Management

• Own key operational metrics including production output quality performance cost efficiency and inventory management.
• Drive the strategic goal of doubling turnover with the same headcount through process optimization and technical innovation.
• Support financial planning budgeting and cost control initiatives.
• Coordinate with sales teams to ensure production readiness and timely order fulfillment.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical Expertise

• Strong handson experience with EPS/PU/PV/PS cutting gluing molding and assembly operations.
• Ability to build modify and integrate machines and production lines.
• Deep understanding of cold chain packaging components such as cardboard structures EPS/PU insulation and gel packs.

Operational Excellence

• Proven experience managing manufacturing plants with multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong knowledge of production planning quality systems inventory control and logistics.
• Experience scaling operations and improving throughput without increasing manpower.

Preferred Background

• 10–12 years of experience in manufacturing preferably in:
  • Cold chain packaging
  • EPS/PU/PV/PS manufacturing
  • Paper/packaging industries
  • Thermal insulation products
• Mechanical industrial or production engineering background preferred.
