Whats the role
Westpac is transforming the way we engineer and deliver technology across our payments ecosystem and this role will be leading this transformation. Combining hands on quality engineering enterprise test governance and strong people leadership you will be uplifting capability across one of the banks most critical domains.
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Establish design and scale our Quality Engineering and Automation practices
  • Own end-to-end test governance across multiple delivery streams
  • Defined frameworks tooling engineering standards test data strategy and CI/CD alignment
  • Set standard and processes for System Test Integration Test SVP OAT and Regression
  • Provide risk visibility readiness assessments and quality reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Lead hands on technical uplift across automation frameworks to increase coveragem stability and speed.
What do I need
To be successful in this role you will have deep hands-on expertise in quality engineering automation frameworks API testing and modern engineering practices. You will have a strong background in test governance quality strategy and risk-based quality management. You will have the ability to design and implement QE frameworks and scalable automation ecosystems.
Additional skills and experience required:
  • Experience leading test and automation functions in large-scale complex technology environments
  • Strong technical grounding in CI/CD tooling observability test data management and environment design
  • Proven success transforming traditional testing models into engineering-led quality practices
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large multi-disciplinary teams including vendor resources
  • Proven capability driving organisation-wide change uplift programs and quality operating model transitions.
