Communications Summer Internship Early Careers Overview

Ready to spend an unforgettable summer at Invesco alongside a select group of driven students. Our 10-week Summer Internship Program kicking off in June 2026 offers you the opportunity to delve into the dynamic world of Communications within a global investment firm. Youll learn from professionals gain hands-on experience and build lasting connections.

As part of our Summer Internship Program cohort youll participate in orientation networking events development workshops and volunteer activities. Youll work side by side with talented teams to learn about the business and contribute to meaningful initiatives that shape our firms strategy.

If you enjoy being part of the news cycle and learning about the dynamics that inform the media this internship offers a unique opportunity to apply your communication skills in a people-focused environment. Todays media relations teams play a critical role in shaping Invescos external reputation building and executing strategy to drive positive coverage of the firm. As part of our Media Relations team youll help draft collateral for media engagement such as pitches press releases and media backgrounders. Youll also work closely with the media relations managers to support our efforts to demonstrate results internally. Its an opportunity to utilize your creativity and strategic thinking to help build a favorable public reputation for the firm.

What youll do

  • Draft and edit collateral for media engagement such as pitches press releases and media backgrounders.

  • Monitor news on peers in the industry and share internally as appropriate.

  • Assist in strategic media planning meetings with Invesco executives.

  • Research best practices and emerging trends in financial media to broaden our strategy

  • Help create monthly and quarterly reports that promote our efforts internally.

  • Partner with marketing social media and enterprise communications to support cross-functional initiatives.

  • Support measurement and reporting on communication effectiveness using internal tools and analytics dashboards

  • Maintain internal process and editorial calendars.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelors degree program and graduating by summer of 2027

  • Minimum GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0 scale

  • All majors are welcome with an emphasis on Communications Public Relations Marketing Journalism English or related fields.

  • Creative problem-solving and ability to craft engaging content

  • Strong writing editing and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis. We do not offer any type of employment-based immigration sponsorship for this program. Invesco will not provide any assistance or sign any documentation in support of any other form of immigration sponsorship or benefit including optional practical training (OPT) or curricular practical training (CPT).

  • Relocation and housing will not be included if an offer is extended

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools especially PowerPoint for presentations

  • Familiarity with media databases (e.g. MuckRack)

  • Experience with social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn)

  • Interest in media relations and financial communications

The salary range for this position in New York NY is $30-$35 hourly
