Job Summary

Cornell University welcomes candidates for the position of Temporary Administrative Assistant Senior in our Alumni Affairs and Development division based in Ithaca NY. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the universitys advancement efforts.

Position Summary

The Temporary Administrative Assistant Senior is responsible for researching preparing and distributing tribute gift notifications and reports (in memory and in honor of). The role offers a blend of independent work and cross-division collaboration including close partnership with the associate director to implement updated processes and leverage new technologies that streamline and enhance operations. This temporary position ends on June 30 2026 with the possibility of extension.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate analyze and prepare weekly and ad-hoc gift reports

  • Prepare and distribute timely correspondence for a variety of stakeholders

  • Assist with data gathering and analysis for tribute-related initiatives across campus

  • Maintain detailed record keeping of all correspondence related to tribute gifts

  • Exercise strong judgment and polished communication with external constituents

  • Support process improvement efforts including identifying and testing new tools such as AI

Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree and 2 to 4 years relevant experience or equivalent combination

  • Experience modeling values that support inclusion belonging and wellbeing.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under general supervision and with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Strong research and computer software skills including Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to exercise strong judgment across all areas including communications with an external audience

Pay Range

$26.00 - $29.35

Work Location

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The selected candidate will be expected to work on site 3 to 4 days per week for initial training. Following the completion of training this position can be performed remotely 3 days per week and on site 2 days per week. The university reserves the right to modify suspend revoke or terminate the hybrid work arrangement at any time.
