Description
This contract position is on-site and provides an excellent opportunity for healthcare professionals to contribute to life-saving procedures while working in a supportive environment.
As a Locum NP/PA you will play a crucial role in assisting with patient care preoperative assessments and postoperative follow-ups in the cardiothoracic surgery department. This role is integral to ensuring the highest standards of care for our patients and will involve collaboration with a team of experienced healthcare providers dedicated to improving patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preoperative and postoperative patient care
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations
- Collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately
- Provide patient education and support throughout their surgical journey
- Participate in daily rounds and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
- Ensure compliance with all medical protocols and standards
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nursing or relevant field
- Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant
- Experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related specialties
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
- Level I Trauma
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7a-4p
Overnight call shifts
Duties: Operative first assist and EVH for cardiothoracic cases
Support Staff:CVOR rad techs nurses circulating and scrub nurses CVOR anesthesia
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
