Overview:
As a Manager you will lead and conduct analysis design and implementation of tailored compensation programs that meet our clients needs and objectives. This role offers the opportunity to further develop your expertise in compensation consulting while making an impact on our clients success.
Essential Job Duties:
Client Support: Provide direction instruction execution on client engagements including conducting research data analysis and preparing client deliverables gathering client requirements and documenting findings. Assist in presenting recommendations to the client.
Compensation Consulting: Lead manage and conduct medium-scale compensation projects on topics such as executive compensation pay structure development short and long-term incentive plan assessment and design market pricing and Intermediate Sanctions analysis.
Prospect/Project Management: Support sales efforts through proposal and engagement development (scoping pricing and timeline). Build cross-functional project teams ensuring timely delivery on budget quality outcomes and client acceptance.
Tool building: Develop tools frameworks and methodologies to address evolving compensation needs.
Learning and Development: Continuously expand your knowledge of compensation principles incentive design techniques through training and self-study. Seek opportunities to learn and contribute to team knowledge sharing. Monitor and understand regulatory changes industry standards and macroeconomic trends related to compensation and how they may impact clients. Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
Collaboration and networking: Actively build relationships within the team and firm. Work collaboratively with team members across functions and lines of business to deliver high-quality solutions and exceed client expectations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration Finance or a related field
8 years of experience in compensation 1 year external compensation consulting
Holds one or more of the following certifications: CCP CECP or CEP
Excellent written and verbal communication analytical and interpersonal skillsalong with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with firm personnel and clientsalong with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with firm personnel and clients
Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word
Ability to work collaboratively with others and manage a team to achieve operational or project goals; ability to serve as a Performance Advisor; and strong attention to detail with effective timemanagement organizational and teamwork skills
Ability to perform essential job functions including meeting client service and performance goals
Demonstrates project management skills including the ability to manage multiple priorities tasks and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy without compromising quality of work product
Ability to work in high pressure environments and maintain concentration while sitting at a desk and working on a computer for extended periods of time.
Access to reliable transportation and ability to travel to office regularly and client sites as needed
Client service mindset ensuring high-quality support responsiveness and collaborative engagement with tax teams internal teams and clients.
Advanced understanding of compensation principles and methodologies to include incentive plan structures (short-term and long-term)
Advanced knowledge of compensation benchmarking methodologies and survey participation.
Knowledge of HRIS platforms and compensation management software.
Preferred Qualifications
MBA with 2 years external compensation consulting
Ability to work independently and multi-task within high volume environment with minimal supervision
Ability to learn quickly deal with ambiguity and think independently and critically
Experience working with project management technologies/tools (Smartsheet etc.)
Experience using specific compensation tools (i.e. ERI CompAnalyst)

At RSM an employees pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including but not limited to education skills work experience certifications location etc. As such pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $101900 - $205200Individualsselected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
