Job Summary
Position: Project Manager
Duration: 6 months to 12 months
Location: Danville VA
Work mode: Hybrid
(With Change Management Public Sector)
Location Requirement:
- Prefer candidates located in VA NC MD or DC region
- Must be willing to travel onsite to Danville VA as required
Engagement Commitment:
- Available to begin within 2 4 weeks of selection
- Willing to commit to minimum 6-month engagement
Position Overview:
TechNix is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager with demonstrated public sector experience and strong change management capability. The selected consultant will lead IT modernization governance and process improvement initiatives within a municipal or government IT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead IT modernization and transformation initiatives
- Develop and manage project plans schedules budgets and risk registers
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders across IT and business units
- Lead change management efforts related to IT initiatives
- Conduct stakeholder impact assessments and readiness planning
- Develop communication strategies and adoption plans
- Ensure compliance with public sector governance standards
- Provide executive-level status reporting and presentations
- Oversee vendor coordination and performance monitoring
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of IT Project Management experience
- Minimum 3 years leading change management initiatives
- Experience supporting State Local or Federal government agencies
- Strong documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience managing IT governance or modernization initiatives
Preferred Certifications:
- PMP (Preferred)
- Prosci Change Management (Strong Plus)
- ITIL (Plus)
