Job Summary

QUINCY SCHOOL DISTRICT
SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY ASSISTANT (SLPA)

Supervisor: Director of Special Education
Salary Range: PSE Salary Schedule

Location/Assignment: Various Schools
Conditions of work: 7 hours/day for 180 days

SUMMARY:

The SLPA will provide services to children as designated on their Individualized Educational Plan and as specified in the treatment plans developed by the SLP.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist the SLP with implementation of the IEP for students with speech needs.
Be able to work with students individually or in small groups on IEP speech goals.
Ability to create an atmosphere for learning and maintenance of student behavior.
Ability to collect appropriate data on student IEP goals.
Ability to work with a wide age and ability range of students.
Collaborative skills when working with team members.
Communication skills necessary to work with students parents and staff members.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience working with children ages 0-21 years of age in a
variety of settings.
Valid Washington State Drivers License.
Prior experience working with diverse cultures.
Ability to function independently and as a team member.
Ability to effectively plan and organize service delivery and data collection.
Demonstrates a high level of competence in written (computer) and oral communications.
Experience in basic computer skills (word processing e-mail data entry).
SLPA certification required.

260 Day Employee-Paid leave benefits to include a minimum of 12 sick days 13 paid holiday and 3 personal leave days and a minimum of 10 days vacation after the first year.

*Benefits may be prorated based upon date of hire/hours per day.
