PathPoint is currently hiring for part-time and full-time Direct Support Professionals and Job Coaches to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Ventura County. Direct Support Professionals and Job Coaches help individuals strengthen workplace abilities build life skills and develop meaningful relationships. What Youll Do:
We are currently seeking caring creative and compassionate staff to join our day services independent living services and supported employment services teams.
Day Services DSP
- Work with a small group of individuals in a facility-based/community-based program
- Lead in-person and online groups that help individuals develop skills which may include art music cooking recreation vocational skills and more depending on your own talents and the interests of the people we support
- Accompany groups on community outings for recreation or volunteer opportunities
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living and personal care which includes helping with meals and eating toileting transferring changing etc.
- Collaborate with and be supported by your teammates every day
- Fixed Monday-Friday schedule with daytime hours
Independent Living Services DSP
- Work independently with individuals one-on-one in their homes
- Teach skills that help individuals live independently which may include cooking and grocery shopping healthy living and exercise budgeting and money management scheduling medical appointments and coordinating benefits
- Flexible scheduling options including day evening and weekend shifts
Supported Employment DSP/Job Coach
- Work independently with individuals one-on-one at their place of work
- Support individuals in maintaining successful employment and enjoying the satisfaction of a job well done
- Coach and counsel individuals on job responsibilities and concerns including assisting with training understanding and growing in opportunities for improvement and navigating coworker/supervisor relationships
- Flexible scheduling options including day evening and weekend shifts
What Were Looking For:
- Patience compassion and positivity
- Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities either professionally or personally is preferred but not required; if you are interested in this opportunity but do not have directly relevant experience wed still love to hear from you!
- High school diploma or GED is required
- All positions require vaccination against COVID-19 including booster; medical and religious exemptions are available to those who qualify
- All positions require a criminal record clearance TB screening and basic health screening
- Most positions require a valid drivers license use of a vehicle with registration and insurance and eligibility for coverage on PathPoints auto insurance policy
Compensation: $21.75 per hour plus additional pay for bilingual staff if that skill is needed. Some positions are eligible for quarterly team bonuses and we reimburse mileage at $0.70 per mile. Pay range is $20.66-$22.84.
