Thermoforming and RollForm Setup Technician
Location: Reno NV
What a day looks like
Your shift begins on the production floor where you ready the thermoforming and rollforming lines for a new run. You reference work orders diagrams and manufacturer manuals to set machine parameters. As production starts you monitor throughput and product quality making onthefly adjustments so equipment runs safely accurately and efficiently.
When a line drifts out of spec you troubleshoot. Sometimes its a simple tweak; other times you assist with equipment repairs or modifications under supervision. You perform routine preventive maintenance collaborate with teammates in the Forming HP area and step in to help wherever youre needed. Throughout the shift you log basic data in the system communicate updates to your supervisor and keep an eye on safety and housekeeping.
Core responsibilities
- Set up monitor and adjust forming machinery to meet production requirements
- Perform simple repairs and preventive maintenance under supervision
- Assist with equipment repairs and modifications as directed
- Read and interpret diagrams and manufacturer manuals to inform adjustments
- Apply a thorough understanding of forming equipment to diagnose issues
- Troubleshoot and finetune equipment in the Forming HP area
- Support teammates and take on additional tasks assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Foundational mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Comfort working in hot dusty environments
- Stamina to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs regularly and occasionally up to 50 lbs
- Effective communication; basic computer and math skills
- Ability to read basic English and use machine shop tools
Physical and visual demands
This role involves frequent standing and moving around the facility; occasional sitting; climbing stairs; bending twisting kneeling crouching or crawling; handling tools and controls; grasping pushing pulling reaching (including above shoulder height). Visual needs include close distance and peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to refocus.
Work schedule
Production needs change. You may work more or fewer hours than a standard schedule including scheduled weekend or partialweekend shifts and may be called in outside of regular hours.
Preferred experience
- Troubleshooting skills including mechanical troubleshooting
- Background in food and beverage manufacturing
- Packaging line experience
- Machine setups for production runs
- Thermoforming experience
