Smith Industries LLC is seeking a Buyer to support procurement operations across the organization. This role is responsible for sourcing materials and services managing vendor relationships and ensuring timely cost-effective purchasing while maintaining compliance with company safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures; properly wear required PPE and immediately report any incidents accidents or unsafe conditions. Exercise Stop Work Authority when necessary and participate in proper job planning and hazard recognition (JSA).
- Communicate with vendors to obtain pricing availability and delivery information.
- Review and process purchase requisitions; expedite orders as needed to meet operational demands.
- Obtain quotes evaluate market pricing and support cost estimation efforts.
- Determine appropriate procurement methods including direct purchase or competitive bidding.
- Evaluate products and suppliers to ensure quality performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Review bid proposals and negotiate contracts within budget and scope of authority.
- Maintain accurate procurement records including cost delivery quality and supplier performance.
- Monitor market trends and changes affecting materials pricing and supply chain practices.
- Procure materials equipment tools parts and supplies to support company operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
