Job Description:
Position Summary:
Cooper Standard is seeking a Program Launch Buyer to support purchasing operations across multiple programs. This role is focused on program execution data tracking and cross-functional coordination ensuring that purchasing deliverables are completed accurately and on time.
This is not a traditional sourcing or negotiation-heavy role. Instead it is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced detail-oriented environment managing multiple priorities and supporting program success from a purchasing operations standpoint.
Primary Responsibilities:
Program & Quote Tracking
Track and manage program-related purchasing activities across multiple initiatives
Maintain accurate and up-to-date quote data timelines and deliverables
Ensure all purchasing inputs are aligned with program milestones
Identify and escalate risks related to delays or missing information
Program Execution & Coordination
Support program launches by coordinating purchasing deliverables across teams
Partner with engineering commodity buyers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment
Monitor program timelines and ensure on-time execution of purchasing activities
Maintain documentation and tracking tools to support program visibility
Cost Awareness & Continuous Improvement
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities through data analysis
Support cost tracking and reporting activities
Contribute to process improvements within purchasing operations
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in supply chain management Business Administration or a related field
24 years of experience in supply chain purchasing or related field
Strong organizational and data tracking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (tracking data management basic analysis)
Proficiency in Auto Quote
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Work Environment/Work Conditions:
Professional office environment with occasional travel to manufacturing facilities as required.
Adherence to safety protocols including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the manufacturing floor.
Training on equipment safety and injury prevention is mandatory.
