Our agency is looking to fill a full-time permanent Office Assistant (OA3) vacancy within the Community Corrections Division.This position works for the Spokane Special Assault Unit (SAU)located at 1717 West Broadway Spokane WA 99201.

Under general supervision from the Administrative Assistant 3 (AA3)this position performs duties involved with working at the reception desk and provides advanced clerical support for the unit. Work hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The Spokane SAUsupervises a caseload of registered individuals who have been convicted of a sex offense by the Superior Court. During supervision they will be under one or more jurisdictions to include the Indeterminate Sentence Review (Parole) Board the Court and DOC. This position requires interfacing with stakeholders as well as therapists and polygraph addition to supervision you may be required to conduct pre-sentence investigations and make recommendations to the Court for an appropriate sentence within the sentencing guidelines. Exposure to sensitive material is common.

Duties

Provide front desk reception clerical support and data entry.

  • Greet and direct clients general public and/or stakeholders tothe appropriate staff.
  • Manage a multi-line phone system.
  • Provide clerical support to the SAU and the Special Needs Unit (SNU) as needed.
  • Manage and maintain electronic and physical files.
  • Database entry and retrieval from various systems such as OMNI (Offender Management Network Information) and OnBase.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six months of clerical experience with a basic knowledge of Microsoft Office programs to include Word Outlook and Excel.
  • And must possess and maintain an unrestricted drivers license valid in the State of Washington.

  • Ability to navigate internal and external databases and a variety of computer platforms and applications.
  • Ability to proofread written material and identify and correct errors grammar and punctuation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with coworkers the public and criminal justice agencies/stakeholders.
