Terms of Employment: 11 months (220 days) Salary range will be competitive and commensurate with experience and will be reviewed annually. Benefits available according to Board policies.
Summary
To oversee and organize the entire activities program at Brookfield R-III High School and Middle School and to assist the High School Principal to ensure the smooth daily operation of the High School. Administrative duties related to the District Breakfast and Lunch Program.
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
An individual who holds this position is responsible for:
- Organize and oversee the entire athletic department.
- Administer the entire athletic budget for each school year.
- Schedule and contract contests for all activities.
- Contract all game officials for activities.
- Schedule busses for away event with the Transportation Director.
- Observe and evaluate all head coaches within the athletic department.
- Make recommendations for rehiring of coaches.
- Ensure home and away events are appropriately supervised.
- Assure that all current schedules are kept current and posted.
- Ensure that all athletic facilities are being well-maintained.
- Ensure that all MSHSAA and Brookfield R-III policies and guidelines are followed.
- Ensure that all MSHSAA paperwork is turned in on time. (ex. Eligibility Lists)
- Maintain records and results each year for all activities.
- Assure that scores and information get to all media outlets.
- Schedule the use of athletic facilities including use by outside groups.
- Attend state and local Athletic Directors meetings as needed.
- Serve as the school liaison with the booster club.
- Develop positive relations with students and parents. This includes proper dress language demeanor and student/teacher relations.
- Strives to achieve the objectives and expectations of the Educator Performance Improvement Cycle.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Ability to work to implement the vision and mission of the district.
- Ensures that all coaches have passed the MSHSAA rules test by the deadline.
- Ensures that all coaches are CPR and First Aid certified
- Assists the High School Principal in enforcing the school code of conduct
- Assists the High School Principal in the daily smooth operations of the school
- Assists in the administration of the School Food and Nutrition Services Program
- Work with the school food service provider to ensure the smooth operation of the school breakfast and lunch program
- Complete all necessary DESE applications and forms related to the food service program
- Administer the free and reduced application and verification process
- Submit monthly food service claims
- Maintain accurate food service records
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Adheres to good safety practices.
- Adheres to all district rules regulations and policies.
- All other duties as required or assigned.
Supervisory Duties
Has supervisory responsibility over coaching staff and athletic department personnel.
