WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Oregon Employment Department is hiring for multiple Auditor (Compliance Specialist 2) positions.
The main purpose of this role is to help ensure that employers follow federal and state Unemployment Insurance (UI) tax laws and pay the correct amount. Auditors work independently in the field and interact directly with employers and their representatives. They review financial and payroll records and apply accounting principles laws rules and agency guidance to understand each situation and make fair decisions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Required Minimum Qualifications
Four years experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action or decide compliance with program guidelines and regulations. Two of the four years must be above the technical support level. (Note: some positions may require experience in a specific regulatory industry or program)
Note: college-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year up to a maximum of three years.

3 years work experience of financial record analysist/investigation investigating examining analyzing and or preparing business financial records. Experience in public accounting tax auditing payroll compliance or business administration. Knowledge of auditing principles investigative methods and automated data analysis tools. 2 years of experience must be within the last 5 years.
3 Years work experience explaining complex subject matter such as laws rules policies and procedures. 2 years of experience must be within the last 5 years.
3 years demonstrated work experience applying general accounting principles and procedures when working with business financial records. Demonstrated experience using automated data collection and analysis tools to evaluate financial or payroll information. 2 years of experience must be withing the last 5 years.
Critical thinking and problem-solving. Ability to identify patterns trends and insights analytical decision making problem solving in a regulatory environment and data driven evaluation.
Demonstrate interpersonal skills and desire to be a team player.
