Job Summary

Key Activities/Responsibilities

  • Support the development of new products and revisions of existing products by applying engineering skills & tools acquired through study training and past experience.
  • Own the product development process on Signature tools and support Purchasing Production and Vendors with new equipment.
  • Be a driver in implementing changes that enhance Jetstream products.
    • Develop new technologies at 40K psi for integration into the Signature tool product line.
      Support the development of new products and revisions of existing products by applying engineering skills & tools acquired through study training and past experience.
    • Own the product development process on Signature tools and support Purchasing Production and Vendors with new equipment.
    • Be a driver in implementing changes that enhance Jetstream products.
    • Develop new product technologies at 40ksi into our existing Signature tool product line.
    • Produce engineering information including solid models assemblies drawings and bills-of-materials (BOMs) for Jetstream products using SolidEdge.
    • Develop detailed CAD models and engineering drawings based upon research that provide the baseline for new equipment and more efficient manufacturing processes.
    • Maintain engineering knowledge management and promote proven prototypes into released products through our in-house workflow management software WAVE.
    • Review manufacturing drawings for accuracy and completeness utilizing ASME 14.5 GD&T principles as a guideline for manufacturing.
    • Assists in investigating design and manufacturing concerns BOM changes and assembly issues as they happen in manufacturing during testing or in the field.
    • Develop product or process improvements that lead to production release.
    • Promote product enhancements requested by customers product manager or sales staff.
    • Conduct product testing that proves design viability through known performance standards.
    • Work directly with other engineers and technicians to test and troubleshoot product development challenges in an iterative way which leads to product qualification.
    • Support Purchasing in communicating with Vendors where engineering support is required to provide specifications special fixturing and overall quality guidelines.
    • Perform other duties assignments and special projects as directed by the engineering manager.

    Job Requirements

    • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program
    • Masters in Mechanical Engineering is strongly preferred
    • 5-8 years of ME design/development experience
    • High Pressure water nozzle design experience preferred
    • Experience with high pressure positive displacement pumps preferred
    • Expertise in high pressure tooling particularly in the waterblasting industry strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of Engineering design principles material science and fluid mechanics.
    • An ability to produce parts assemblies and production drawings in Solid Edge is expected.
    • Drawing maintenance through PDM/PLM software.
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with an ability to write technical instructions and investigative test reports.
    • Comprehension and analysis of scientific articles and technical reports.
    • Proficient with all MS Office applications
    • Experience with Solid Edge Teamcenter PLM and Oracle/JDE is preferred
