| Job Description: | This position is for Summer B 2026 with the potential for continued employment but not guaranteed. Student Employees within Newell Hall in this position must: - Be a current UF degree seeking student registered at a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester
- Respond to and assist with emergency situations and building evacuations per department procedures or as instructed by building management staff
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining a high level of professionalism
- Demonstrate a desire and willingness to learn in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Establish an exemplary work ethic by being proactive self-motivated and dependable
- Participate in all scheduled meetings trainings and evaluations
- Act as an ambassador for Newell Hall and the Reitz Union as well as the University of Florida providing accurate information and campus resources
Position Specific Responsibilities: - Availability to work shifts within the following timeframes preferred: 8:00AM to 8:00PM on the weekends
- Greet and assist visitors by providing directions on locations throughout Newell Hall campus and other various destinations
- Assist with management of facility spaces and equipment ensuring facility-related concerns are promptly reported and resolved
- Distribute and manage check-out study materials for patrons to utilize in Newell Hall
- Complete rounds of assigned spaces including restocking supplies and cleaning spaces (e.g. wiping tables vacuuming removing trash) and completing other assigned tasks
- Provide assistance to patrons as needed regarding lost and found items
- Provide shift reports of daily activities supplies utilized and other related information
- Assist in the completion of opening and/or closing procedures of the building
- Complete all training requirements upon being hired in a timely fashion
- Ability to commit to working 10 or more hours per week
- Other duties as assigned

| Minimum Requirements: | This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus receive or are eligible to receive Federal Work Study and must maintain a 2.5 grade point average. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis up to 20 hours per week. Summer B 2026 availability is required. |

- Proficient with verbal and written communication
- Attention to professionalism dependability and timeliness
- Ability to work shifts during the early morning evenings and weekends
- CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to obtain
