Collins is seeking a Business Development Associate Director to lead the Momentum Business Development team. This leader will manage a team of experienced BD professionals and is responsible for developing and executing strategies to grow scope and value within existing programs product lines and customer segments while selectively capturing new profitable opportunities in domestic and international markets.

The position reports to the BD leader for Momentum & Mission Critical and requires strong experience leading teams engaging aerospace and defense customers and translating customer insight into accurate actionable forecasts. Close collaboration with program and functional teams is essential to align priorities and execute across multiple value streams.

Position can be located near the following Collins Aerospace site locations: Cedar Rapids IA Richardson TX El Segundo CA DC area; however will consider 100% Remote for exceptional candidates.

What You Will Do

• Directs all business development activities and ensures robust execution of Pursuit-to-Start-up processes. This includes at a minimum: capture strategies gate reviews win strategies competitive intelligence price to win customer relationship management proposal development

• Leads a mid-size BD team to successfully achieve Momentum portfolio objectives including employee development/mentoring on all aspects of the business development function

• Responsible for prioritization planning and execution of New Business Investment (or discretionary) budgets related to the Momentum portfolio

• Participates as a key leader in the triad (PM Eng BD) for the Momentum organization

• Provides strategic leadership for customer relationship management for current programs

• Leads senior level engagements across external and internal customer sets

• Leads government relations or congressional efforts for the Momentum portfolio

• Travel up to 25% may be required (both domestic and international)

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

• Strong understanding and experience of defense acquisition across US and international customers including requirements generation the Planning Programming Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes

• Expert knowledge in all functional aspects of business development

• Proven leadership across multiple echelons of organizations in both direct and indirect applications

• Detailed understanding and experience with new business capture processes for pursuits greater than $50M

Qualifications We Prefer

• Candidates should have a strong understanding and experience of defense acquisition across the U.S. Department of War and international customers including requirements generation the Planning Programming Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) processes

• Candidate should have a strong foundation of program management processes production programs demand planning and SIOP (Sales Inventory & Operations Planning)

The salary range for this role is 157200 USD - 298800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
