Were looking for aPrincipalProduct Design Architectto lead the design and development of high-performance compute and sensing hardware for next-generation robotic platforms. This role sits at the intersection of product design compute architecture sensing systems and manufacturing shaping how complex electromechanical systems are conceived integrated and brought to life at scale.
Youll define long-term hardware design strategies lead technically complex programs and work closely with cross-functional partners to deliver robust scalable and innovative robotic systems.
What Youll Do
Architect and lead the product design roadmap for compute- and sensing-heavy electromechanical systems.
Drive system-level design decisions across compute architecture sensors mechanical packaging thermal management power delivery and manufacturability.
Evaluate and introduce new compute and sensing technologies to improve performance efficiency and scalability.
Lead technical trade studies and guide key architectural decisions in collaboration with systems software controls manufacturing and sourcing teams.
Own technical risk mitigation through design reviews FMEAs and validation planning.
Serve as technical lead on complex design programs partnering with product and engineering leadership to align execution with long-term strategy.
Mentor and influence engineers through design reviews standards development and architectural best practices.
Collaborate with external vendors and partners on compute and sensing technologies.
What You Bring
Deep experience architectingcomplex electromechanical products with a strong emphasis onhigh-performance compute and sensing systems.
Expert-level CAD proficiency (CATIA preferred or equivalent).
Strong understanding of compute-driven design challenges including thermal management power delivery sensor integration EMI/EMC and system safety.
Proven ability to lead architectural trade studies and balance innovation cost reliability and manufacturability.
Experience working across disciplines and influencing technical direction without direct authority.
Comfort operating in ambiguous problem spaces and setting technical direction for others.
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
10 years of experience in electromechanical hardware product development including meaningful ownership of complex product launches.
Experience working with vendors and suppliers on compute components or sensing technologies.
The base pay range for this position is between $177207.64 to $243660.51 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including but not limited to internal equity job related knowledge skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
