A large and inclusive community primary school in Liverpool is seeking a proactive and compassionate Attendance & Family Liaison Officer to strengthen its pastoral and safeguarding provision. The school serves a diverse local community and places strong emphasis on attendance early intervention and positive relationships with families.
This is a pivotal role within the schools wider pastoral team. You will work closely with senior leaders class teachers and external agencies to ensure pupils attend regularly feel supported and can access education without barriers.
The Role
As Attendance & Family Liaison Officer you will lead on monitoring tracking and improving pupil attendance across the school. You will use data effectively to identify patterns of absence support families and implement targeted interventions where needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
Monitoring daily attendance and following up on absences promptly
Identifying trends in persistent absence and implementing action plans
Conducting home visits where appropriate
Working closely with families to remove barriers to attendance
Liaising with the local authority and education welfare services
Supporting safeguarding referrals where necessary
Maintaining accurate attendance records and reporting to senior leaders
You will also support wider pastoral initiatives contributing to early help meetings and safeguarding discussions.

Experience within a primary setting is desirable though strong candidates from secondary schools or local authority roles will also be considered.
