About the Role
To actively monitor promote and strengthen the attendance and engagement of vulnerable children and young people with SEND. The role supports the work of the Education Welfare & EOTAS Service the SEN Service and the wider Children and Education Directorate contributing to improved educational outcomes and wellbeing for all children and young people.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
1. Experience of safeguarding the welfare of children young people and vulnerable adults by working with education providers and relevant support agencies to promote positive relationships with families and adhere to LA and NCSB procedures.
2. Experience of monitoring the attendance of children and young people with complex SEND at alternative provision and with bespoke packages using the IMS system (currently CLM).
3. The ability to identify in conjunction with Senior Officers those children and young people with complex SEND who are NEET at risk of NEET or otherwise struggling to engage with education and training and address the concerns raised.
4. Experience of working directly with children young people and families at their homes education provision and in the community.
5. Experience of establishing strong and effective links with families education providers and support services to facilitate personalised solutions.
6. Experience in developing the use of personal budgets in flexible and creative ways to improve outcomes.
7. Experience of working with data and the ability to maintain and update office records including SEN casefiles the Capita ONE education management system and other paper-based and computerised data management systems.
8. Experience in undertaking research and providing detailed analytical information to Senior Officers.
9. The ability to act responsibly in order to build mutual confidence and respect and foster effective working relationships with all.
-This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role.
-A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.
