DescriptionPosition Title: Academic Technology Operations Analyst.
Department: Library and Information Technology Services.
Classification: Exempt.
FTE: 1.0.
Work Schedule: The standard 40-hour work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; flexible work arrangements can be proposed and are subject to approval by HR and relevant supervisors; occasional evening and weekend hours as needed; travel up to 3% of the work schedule which includes local (Twin Cities metro area) and national travel. Overnight trips average 1-2 trips per year.
Work Location: Hybrid. WFH 1-2 days a week. Will work on campus fully for the first six months.
Salary Range: $68000 - $77000.
Essential Job Duties:
- Software Support.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison for the colleges academic administrative software including advising systems degree planning tools case management solutions and related student information systems.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to configure new software.
- Support faculty advisors and staff in the effective use of software for course registration academic planning student progress tracking Academic support early alert and documentation.
- Troubleshoot system issues analyze root causes and coordinate resolutions with vendors and internal IT teams.
- Monitor system performance and data integrity related to academic records.
- Faculty and Staff Support & Training.
- Provide training and one-on-one support to faculty staff and academic advisors on the use of academic administrative software.
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to develop user guides job aids and training materials to promote consistent effective system use.
- Technical Liaison & Vendor Management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with vendors for academic administrative software. The software will include but not be limited to Civitas SIS etc.
- Coordinate system upgrades patches enhancements and issue resolution with vendors.
- Communicate system changes known issues and new features to academic stakeholders.
- Software Management.
- Assess the impact of system changes on academic workflows and develop implementation and communication plans.
- Support and help coordinate the testing validation and rollout of new features and system updates.
- Gather feedback from users and recommend system improvements.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement.
- Collaborate with Academic Advising Registrar Enrollment Management and IT teams to align systems with institutional goals.
- Analyze business processes and recommend technology-based solutions to streamline and enhance academic operations.
- Ensure systems comply with federal state and institutional policies and data governance standards.
- Promote services and represent the libraries and IT including creating media planning & working at events contributing ideas and helping the Events and Engagement committee to make the libraries a welcoming place.
- Support respect and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds values and points of view to build a strong and inclusive community.
- Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision Received and Exercised:
- Reports to the Director of Enterprise Information Services.
- This position does not supervise staff or student workers.
Required Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science Information Systems or a related field or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- Experience supporting enterprise software applications preferably in higher education.
- Strong understanding of student information systems advising software or academic technologies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with faculty staff and vendors.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
