Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate with circa 3 years PQE to join our busy and successful Projects & Construction team in our Sydney will havethe opportunity to consistently challenge yourself while working on a broad range of interesting building construction and infrastructure projects including industrial public infrastructure commercial residential and retail.

In this position you will be exposed to a range of clients including developers head contractors consultants and subcontractors. There will be a mix of front end (non-contentious) and back-end (contentious) work across 2-3 partners. An understanding of both is important.

You will need to also demonstrate a high degree of confidence commercial acumen and ability to work with autonomy and as part of a team with both internal and external will also need demonstrated expertise in the drafting of contractual and litigation documentation and the ability to provide commercial legal advice to stakeholders across the construction industry.

You will be provided with continuous learning opportunities and will be mentored and supported as you develop your career at Piper Alderman. Your learning experience will be underpinned by an excellent CLE program and the opportunity to build relationships within our National Projects & Construction Team and gain exposure to work across our offices in will be motivated to learn and have a willingness to apply yourself in an environment in which measurables are realistic and your career growth is a priority.

To succeed in this role you will ideally have

Admitted with circa 3 years PQE experience with a reputable construction/projects practice
Exposure to both front end and back-end work
An excellent academic record
Demonstrative strong technical legal skills
A commitment to excellence and delivery of high-quality outcomes to our clients
Ability to effectively manage your own time managing competing tasks and at time working to tight deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Attention to detail
A can do attitude with an eagerness to learn and grow your career with Piper Alderman
