Job Summary
MS Technology is seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to support project planning and pre-construction efforts. This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates supporting schedule development and assisting in the evaluation of contractor bids to ensure best-value project execution.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings specifications and scope documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze labor material and equipment costs.
- Assist with development and review of project schedules in coordination with project management.
- Support evaluation of contractor bids and proposals for completeness accuracy and alignment with project scope.
- Collaborate with engineering procurement and project management teams during pre-construction planning.
- Maintain cost databases and historical estimating information to improve forecasting accuracy.
- Assist in identifying cost risks value engineering opportunities and alternative approaches.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management Engineering or related field preferred.
- Experience in construction estimating or project controls preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings specifications and cost breakdown structures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software is a plus.
- Strong analytical organizational and communication skills.
