Demand Planning Analyst

Job Description

The Role

As a member of the Supply Chain team you will play a key role in aligning demand forecasts with supplier capacity to support program execution across the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP). This position blends analytical depth with crossfunctional collaboration using datadriven insights to identify longterm capacity risks validate capacity assumptions and drive informed decisionmaking. You will help develop and maintain capacity planning tools execute supplier capacity documents to support sourcing and engineering timelines and ensure stakeholders are aligned on key volume and capacity decisions. This role requires strong problemsolving skills comfort navigating ambiguity and the ability to influence teams across the enterprise.

What Youll Do

• Develop a strong understanding of the Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP) and how supplier capacity planning fits within key milestones.
• Analyze demand forecasts and supplier capacity to identify risks more than one year out and provide insights to support strategic decisions.
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams (Purchasing Program Management Portfolio Planning Manufacturing Supply Planning) to align demand and supply plans.
• Create validate and maintain Lean Capacity Rates (LCRs) and partlevel capacity assessments (e.g. B1s) ensuring required crossfunctional alignment and approvals.
• Execute supplier capacity documents (B1s) to support sourcing timelines engineering change requests (ECRs) and tooling kickoffs.
• Improve and standardize capacityplanning tools analytics and processes to enhance early identification of constraints.
• Manage project timelines and communicate status risks and required actions to stakeholders.
• Support broader strategic and processimprovement initiatives as needed.

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

• Bachelors degree in Business Supply Chain Engineering Marketing or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years within supply chainrelated functions.
• Strong analytical capability with experience managing and analyzing data streams.
• Experience in manufacturing or operations environments.
• Highly motivated selfstarter comfortable working in ambiguous situations.
• Strong project management and problemsolving skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint (required).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple visual terms (data storytelling).
• Working knowledge of basic statistical and mathematical tools used for analysis.
• Ability to coordinate work across multiple organizations within General Motors.
• Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills.
• Managerial courage; able to take a stand when necessary.

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

• Experience with data analytics tools such as Power BI Tableau or similar platforms.
• Background in demand planning capacity planning or constraint management.
