Location: Hull Royal Infirmary Anlaby Rd HU3 2JZ
Pay Rate: 13.60 per hour
Contract: Temp to Perm (T2P)
DBS: Basic DBS required
Shift Patterns: MondayFriday 06:0014:00 &14:0022:00
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Healthcare Domestic Supervisor to support the delivery of high-quality cleaning services within a busy healthcare environment.
This role involves supporting the Domestic Manager in maintaining a clean safe and hygienic environment for patients staff and visitors across both patient and non-patient areas.
You will lead manage and develop a team of domestic staff to ensure all cleaning standards and KPIs are achieved. This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring strong leadership organisation and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed in accordance with NHS Cleaning Standards (or equivalent).
- Manage and monitor assigned areas within budget and contract specifications.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels at all times.
- Maintain attendance records including holidays and sickness.
- Authorise timesheets and overtime in agreement with management.
- Carry out quality audits and monitoring in partnership with site representatives.
- Conduct inductions refresher training and job chats.
- Lead return to work interviews and first-line absence meetings.
- Carry out first-line investigations in line with company policy.
- Oversee consumables equipment and machinery reporting defects where necessary.
- Ensure Helpdesk tasks are completed within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain washroom checks proof of presence targets and periodic cleaning schedules.
- Liaise daily with departmental leads to ensure excellent service delivery.
- Promote and maintain health and safety compliance at all times.
- Uphold company values confidentiality and professional standards.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Complete one Safe Site Inspection per month.
- Ensure all staff work safely and in accordance with procedures.
- Report near misses and adverse events.
- Review safe systems of work prior to activities.
- Work closely with the Health & Safety team.
- Raise concerns regarding health & safety breaches.
Essential:
MUST have proof of Hep B vaccination
- IT literate (email and basic systems)
- Strong organisational skills
- Good verbal and written communication
- Ability to work under pressure
- Reliable punctual and professional
- Customer-focused with a positive can-do attitude
- Strong team leadership and motivational skills
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 (not essential)
- Previous housekeeping or domestic supervisory experience
- Experience within a hospital or healthcare environment
- Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures
- Experience within a service-led industry
