Joining a major nuclear project the NEC Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the contractor complies with the technical standards and specifications outlined in the NEC Engineering and Construction Contracts.
This role plays a critical part in maintaining quality assurance and ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with the contract requirements. To succeed in this role previous NEC works contract experience civil engineering MCHW and H&S experience is essential.
As part of this role the scope of accountability includes the construction of off-site infrastructure that may include (but not be limited to) Major Highway Works Park and Ride sites Rail works temporary construction roads and utility network.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with Works Information NEC3 requirements and health & safety regulations.
- Issue Defect Notifications support defect resolution and chair regular quality meetings.
- Review and approve material submissions prior to site delivery.
- Liaise with County Council inspectors under S278 obligations.
- Maintain daily inspection testing and site activity records.
- Witness and verify testing and commissioning activities.
- Work within CEMAR Field View and SharePoint systems.
- Coordinate with project Quality teams and feed site data into Quality Management systems.
- Maintain strong communication with the Contractor Project Manager and key stakeholders.
- Provide clear written and verbal reports covering progress quality H&S environment and stakeholder matters.
- Promote lessonslearned and knowledgecapture across the project.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with project teams and Construction Managers.
Qualifications :
Though previous nuclear experience would be great please note it is not essential. We actively encourage applications from other regulated sectors who are keen to transition into nuclear environments.
We also recognise that its unlikely you will meet every requirement listed below but if you have 80% these skills I would still like to hear from you.
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in engineering construction or related field.
- Proven experience working on highly regulated infrastructure projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment whilst ensuring high levels of quality safety security and environmental responsibility
- Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC Contracts.
- CSCS card and relevant health and safety training.
