Job Summary

Job Summary:

TheParts Counterpersonwillbe responsible forassistingcustomers with parts inquiries ordering parts and ensuring efficient andaccurateinventory management. We areseekinga motivated and detail-oriented individualto join our team and help ensure the smooth operation of the parts department. This role is key to providing outstanding customer servicemaintainingstrong relationships with customers and supporting the service department by delivering the parts required for vehicle repair and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively withcustomers and staffandthe abilityto work in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule:

OurPartsDepartment is open MondayFriday 7:00 AM6:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM3:00 PM. This positionworksa rotating schedule: one week MondayFriday the next week MondaySaturday. Shifts are 8 hours within operating hours and include a 1-hour unpaid lunch.

Compensation:
This position offers a competitive hourly wage plus a monthly performance-based bonus. Total starting earnings typically range from $43000$46000 annually depending on experience performance and hours worked. Bonus opportunities are paid monthly and are based on individual and/or department performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers andassistwith parts requests in person through the shop over the phone or via email.

  • Identifyand recommendappropriate partsbased on customer needs vehicle make model and year

  • Process parts orders including verifying stock availability placing special orders arrangingdeliveriesand invoicing the customer

  • Communicate with customer and shop on the status of any part order andnotify themupon delivery to the dealership

  • Maintainaccurateinventory records track parts orders and restock shelves as needed.

  • Handle returns and exchangesin accordance withdealership policies

  • Provide price quotes and process transactions for parts sales

  • Work closely with the service department to ensure parts are deliveredtimelyfor scheduled repairs

  • Assistin the management of parts inventory including conducting regular stock checks cycle counts and annual fiscal inventory

  • Ensure parts are stored and handled properly to prevent damage or loss

  • Offeradditionalproduct recommendations and promotions to customers

  • Maintain a clean and organized parts counter and storage areas

  • Stay informed about new parts and products available in the market

  • Understands and follows federalstateand local regulations applicable to industry

  • Additionalmiscellaneous duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Proficiencywith technology and computer systems

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and handle a fast-paced environment

  • Basic math skills for processing orders and transactions

  • Strong work ethic and professional appearance

  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of automotive industry trends and new products

  • Knowledge of automotive parts tools and equipment.

  • Previousexperience in parts counter sales or automotive parts

  • Proficiencywith parts management software

Work Environment:

  • This is an in-store position working at the parts counter in a fast-paced dealership environment

  • Parts operation hours are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM

  • Frequent lifting of parts boxes (up to 50 lbs.) standing for extended periods and frequent walking
