Minor Hotels is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Brisbane Head Office team on a Part Time 30 hours per week fixed-term contract. This role is responsible for delivering accurate timely and compliant end-to-end payroll processing across a portfolio of properties while providing high-level customer service and support to employees and leaders.
Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager you will play a key role in ensuring payroll accuracy legislative compliance and continuous process improvement within a high-volume multi-site environment.
Responsibilities Include:
- End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll across a portfolio of properties
- Managing Workers Compensation payments Paid Parental Leave (Services Australia) and Child Support obligations (where applicable)
- Maintaining payroll and leave systems ensuring accurate employee records
- Interpreting awards enterprise agreements and contracts including overtime and shift allowances
- Processing new starters variations increases back pays and termination payments
- Calculating and reconciling annual leave and long service leave accruals
- Assisting with month-end reporting payroll tax reconciliations and General Ledger balancing
- Preparing internal and statutory payroll reporting
- Responding to payroll-related queries from employees and managers
- Supporting payroll compliance audits and ad hoc projects as required
Qualifications :
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Minimum 3 years experience in high-volume payroll processing (essential)
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation awards and compliance requirements
- Experience with Workers Compensation (preferred but not essential)
- Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and urgency
- High attention to detail and strong reconciliation skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
