Job Summary

Cakum Global is recruiting a Freight Group Manager to join our clients senior leadership team in Lae Papua New Guinea.

Role Overview:
This is a senior management role within a leading international freight business. Reporting to the General Manager the Freight Group Manager will lead freight forwarding and project operations oversee large teams and drive operational efficiency compliance and financial performance in a challenging operating environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage Freight Group Managers working closely with Operations Logistics and HR
Maintain senior relationships with airlines shipping lines overseas agents and key partners
Ensure full compliance with PNG Customs Trusted Trader NAQIA and regulatory requirements
Own the operations P&L and prepare annual budgets and financial reports
Act as a senior contact for key clients suppliers and stakeholders
Develop procedures training programs and enforce safety management systems
Compile weekly monthly and annual management and performance reports
Enforce company policies and operational standards at all times

Ideal Candidate Profile:

10 years experience in the freight forwarding industry
At least 5 years in a senior freight forwarding management role
Strong knowledge of freight documentation customs procedures and global routing
Proven leadership capability managing large teams in demanding environments
Strong commercial acumen with budget P&L and KPI reporting experience
Tertiary qualifications in business logistics or a related field preferred
High commitment to health safety and leadership standards
