Job Summary
Cakum Global is recruiting an ICD Manager (Inland Container Depot) for our client in Port Moresby Papua New Guinea.
Role Overview:
Lead and manage a customs-bonded container depot ensuring smooth container flow strict compliance and high service delivery in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Oversee receipt storage and release of bonded containers from port to yard
- Manage yard operations including stacking space utilization and container flow
- Coordinate fumigation inspections and customs clearance processes
- Ensure timely delivery of containers to clients (targeting 24-hour turnaround)
Compliance & Control
- Ensure full compliance with PNG Customs Quarantine and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation for all container movements
- Control yard access in line with legal and safety requirements
- Maintain infrastructure and equipment to meet operational and compliance standards
Team & Performance Management
- Manage daily staff operations scheduling and training of drivers and operators
- Enforce safety policies operational procedures and company standards
- Monitor productivity cost control and operational performance
- Lead investigations and proactively resolve operational issues
Client & Business Focus
- Maintain strong customer relationships and service delivery standards
- Identify new business opportunities and support growth initiatives
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in container yard depot or logistics operations management
- Strong knowledge of customs-controlled environments and bonded facilities
- Experience managing yard operations fleet coordination and delivery scheduling
- Strong leadership planning and organizational skills
- High attention to detail with a proactive and solution-focused mindset
- Ability to operate effectively in a demanding and fast-paced environment
