DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
Sound Transits Learning and Development team oversees internal learning content development for the entire agency. The agency-wide training intern will have an opportunity to be a part of the team that oversees creation of learning content for a wide variety of teams and topics.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional position-specific duties.
JOB DUTIES:
- Assist with universal design/accessibility in several kinds of mediums (e.g. ensuring accessible design in eLearning courses captioning videos checking content for readability and alt-text).
- Convert information into branded template-based formats (Job Aids Quick Guides infographics etc.) assist in managing team templates internal document organization and other artifacts.
- Research background information for course content.
- Participate in end-to-end video production including script writing screen recording voice acting audio production editing and publishing using tools such as Camtasia and Vyond.
- Quality Assurance for eLearning courses created in Articulate 360 (a rapid eLearning development software suite).
- Provide scheduling support by scheduling subject matter expert follow-ups audit course data and related databases.
POTENTIAL PROJECTS:
- Our projects are variable in length and complexity. Here a few examples of projects in the recent past:
- Designing eLearning courses on wide range of topics like implicit bias and Agency Anti-Racism initiatives using company credit cards environment sustainability safety or information security.
- Creation of slide deck for New Employee Orientation instructor-led course.
- End-to-end video production for animated explainer on the benefits package offered to Sound Transit employees.
- Document creation and design for course participant guides.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must be a current college student in good academic standing enrolled in an accredited associate bachelors or graduate degree program in Graphic Design Adult Education Video Production Human-Centered Design or other technical discipline or relevant two-year certificate.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
- Strong written communication skills
- Interest in adult education
- Experience with Microsoft Office
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with learning authoring tools (e.g. Articulate 360 Captivate)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. InDesign Illustrator Photoshop Acrobat)
- Experience with video production (e.g. Vyond Camtasia YouTube)
