Business Development Manager within the Sales Team. The role is to generate additional sales of services and software to the UK public sector and identify building upon our recent success.This role requires an individual who has a proven track record of identifying and winning new opportunities within Local Government. The role is predominantly that of a “hunter”: finding new business within new and existing customers. There will be an element of Account Management to manage the customer relationships established through new business sales success. Experience of successfully selling managed service solutions and/or software is important.The role includes: - New business pipeline generation
- Research and exploitation of new market sectors
- Upsell / cross sell opportunities with existing clients
- Territory management planning and reporting
- Customer facing sales meetings
- Working in partnership with internal sales resource
- Customer management
Areas of experience which are essential for this role- A track record of new business development from one or more of the following
- Local authorities
- UK private sector
- Central Government departments
- Housing associations
- Emergency services
- Third sector bodies
- Minimum three to five years’ sales experience
- Demonstrable evidence of hitting / exceeding sales targets
- Ability to manage a geographic territory and develop territory plans that show how you will exceed target
- Experienced in selling managed services and/or software
- Experience of managing a pipeline of opportunities using Salesforce MS Dynamics (or similar)
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Experience of presenting at all levels (up to and including C-suite)
