About the role

As Director Digital Infrastructure & Cloud Services you will set the strategic direction for infrastructure and cloud across the University - influencing decisions that shape divisional and university-wide priorities. This role requires a highly visible and influential leader who can inspire cultural renewal while delivering technical transformation. The successful candidate will bring a contemporary enterprisescale perspective to infrastructure and cloud balancing deep technical expertise with the ability to listen engage and positively influence highly experienced technical teams. You will respect the unique complexity of a university environment while confidently guiding teams through modernisation and change.

You will:

  • Modernise and elevate Deakins desktop endpoint and hybrid cloud ecosystems to deliver measurable strategic financial and operational advantage
  • Champion a balanced hybrid cloud strategy using strong architectural financial and risk-based reasoning to guide major technology decisions using strong architectural financial and riskbased reasoning rather than ideology or precedent to guide major technology decisions
  • Bring contemporary future-focused thinking to ensure our technologies services and capabilities remain progressive scalable and secure
  • Identify opportunities to streamline operations enhance service quality and uplift the digital experience across the University
  • Lead a longstanding technical workforce and build a cohesive high-performance culture grounded in collaboration accountability and continuous improvement including establishing clear expectations and a decisionmaking discipline
  • Drive cultural uplift across Cloud Systems & Services and Desktop & Endpoint functions - increasing visibility engagement and shared purpose

About you

You are a strategic and commercially astute technology leader who thrives in enterprise-scale environments. You combine big-picture thinking with operational discipline and you inspire results through others. You are comfortable leading in environments where strong views exist and you bring the credibility judgement and resilience to set direction while building trust.

You bring:

  • Proven success leading large-scale infrastructure and cloud transformation in complex multistakeholder environments
  • Deep expertise in hybrid cloud modern workplace ecosystems and enterprise infrastructure with the credibility to challenge entrenched thinking and guide teams toward contemporary best practice
  • Strong commercial acumen including the ability to model forecast and articulate the financial implications of infrastructure and cloud decisions
  • A track record of leading cultural change and uplifting capability in established teams
  • Exceptional influencing negotiation and communication skills
  • The resilience and clarity to thrive in ambiguity and competing demands
