Position Summary

Reporting to the Project Director the Project Controls Manager is responsible for ensuring bestpractice Project Controls systems and processes are applied. Primary responsibilities include managing the Project Controls functions including scheduling cost and change management risk management and document control and administration. The Project Controls Manager will have a Scheduler and Cost Controller Administrator reporting to them.

This is a sitebased role on our Uungula Wind Farm project located outside of Wellington NSW. This role requires a strong onsite presence to effectively support project teams and outcomes with flexibility for a 1 week onsite / 1 week officebased arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Project Controls framework tools systems and reporting on assigned Project ensuring alignment to the strategic objectives of SQE.
  • Coordinate with SQE Project Controls and Project Governance Community of Practice to ensure best practice system and process application.
  • Manage and lead team of Project Controls staff within the Project.
  • Manage the monthly Cost Management process including cashflow forecasting contingency management and Estimate at Complete (EAC) assessment.
  • Review contractor variations and extension of time claims and assess impacts to Project EAC.
  • Provide Senior Project team members and Project Management Office (PMO) with updates on contractor performance and assist in the resolution of commercial disputes.
  • Lead the preparation of Project reporting including all aspects of the cost schedule progress variance and risk and opportunities.
  • Liaise with the Corporate Governance Risk and Compliance team to ensure Project related elements integrate with enterprise-wide system and standards.
  • Provide clear picture of Project cost schedule and risk position and trends to Senior Project Management team.
  • Other tasks as required.

About you

You are a confident and commercially minded project controls professional with experience managing complex multidisciplinary projects. You bring a collaborative leadership style and a strong focus on delivery governance and continuous improvement.

You will have:

  • Extensive experience in project controls including cost estimation scheduling risk and change management
  • Proven experience supporting complex projects to meet scope time and budget objectives
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and implement corrective actions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
  • Proficiency with project management and project controls systems and tools (P6)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management Engineering Business Administration or equivalent amount of experience
