Job Summary

EMCOR Government Services is seeking a talented Service Order Manager (SOM) at Fort Carson Evan Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson Colorado.

The Service Order Manager develops scopes of work solicit competitive bids prepares the estimate and coordinates various construction and repair projects from inception to completion as related to the contract scope of work. This position requires organizational supervisory and communication skills plus the understanding of numerous mechanical and structural systems (HVAC electrical fire systems plumbing structural carpentry etc.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Using specific direction from the client representative prepares the scope of work for various types of construction or repair projects.
  • Solicit competitive bids and prepare estimates that are formally submitted to the client representative for approval.
  • Prepares equipment and material submittals for client approval as specified.
  • Prepares and submits Request for Information (RFI) to the client as necessary.
  • Acquires permits as required (Hot Work LOTO ISLM ICRA) prior to the commencement of any project from the client representative.
  • Coordinates the construction work in consultation with the campus staff and or tenants in the affected areas to minimize the disruption of clinical or research operations. This may include work after normal business hours and or weekends.
  • Prepares safety plans that ensure the contractors and or in-house staff are following OSHA safety guidelines and Total Joint Commission (TJC) standards during any construction or repair project.
  • Prepares environmental plans that ensure the contractors and or in-house staff are following infectious control policies and procedures during any renovations or construction.
  • Prepares submit and implements Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM) during renovation or construction projects.
  • Prepares a punch list and Quality Assurance inspection at the completion of all projects and ensures that all work is completed as per specifications and in a professional manner.
  • Schedules equipment commissioning and prepares the project reports for the client.
  • Ensures all site employees are trained on the safe operations and maintenance of any newly installed equipment.
  • Ensures all AutoCAD drawings are red lined and all documentation for EMCORs records and client approval.
  • Prepares invoicing upon completion of all IDIQ projects to ensure timely accounts receivable receipts.
  • Approves and processes invoices from vendors and contractors per accounts payable procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with department safety and quality standards to optimize effective utilization of resources and productivity.
  • Follow and implement standard Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
  • Attend weekly Tool Box Safety meetings.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) or Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) is preferred for this position
  • Ability to read and understand architectural and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to read and understand manufactures submittals and literature.
  • Ability to specify and order material via JDEdwards software.
  • Ability to obtain an OSHA 30 General Industry Safety and Health standards certification
  • Completion of RS Means Construction Estimating (Supplied by EMCOR)
  • Must have a current valid drivers license.

  • Must complete the OSHA 10/30 General Industry Safety and Health training class (supplied by EMCOR)

Compensation Range: $105000 - $115000
