Job Description
NXTGEN are partnering with growing and supportive accountancy practice where an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Accounts Assistant Manager to join them. This role offers genuine responsibility client exposure and the chance to play a key role within a collaborative accounts team. As an Accounts Assistant Manager you will take ownership of a varied portfolio of accounts assignments supporting both clients and junior team members while ensuring work is delivered to a high technical standard and within agreed timeframes.
You will manage moderate to large accounts preparation assignments including the associated tax computations while acting as a key point of contact for clients. This Accounts Assistant Manager role combines hands-on technical work review responsibilities and team development.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparing statutory accounts and accompanying tax computations
Clearing more complex queries directly with clients and suggesting practical solutions
Reviewing work prepared by junior team members prior to manager sign-off
Coaching and mentoring junior staff providing constructive feedback
Managing assignment timelines in line with agreed budgets
Maintaining strong client relationships through regular communication
The successful candidatewill be ACA or ACCA part-qualified or fully qualified (minimum requirement) with experience gained within a UK accountancy practice. You will have hands-on experience preparing statutory accounts and tax computations strong client-facing skills and up-to-date working knowledge of VAT including partial exemption. Experience of using Sage Xero and QuickBooks Online is essential.
