Equities Engineers focus on designing developing and maintaining the global infrastructure which underpins Equities sales and trading at Goldman Sachs. These engineers work across a variety of problem domains and software stacks to create leverage in our various Equities cash and derivatives business lines. These problem spaces include:
- High-throughput low latency order management and electronic trading platform
- Client Connectivity of all clients to the various GS platform via FIX
- Exchange Connectivity of all the various Asia Exchanges using native exchange protocol for trading connectivity and market data connectivity
- Adaptable algorithmic trading platforms
- Smart Order Routing and Internalization Trading Platform
- Adaptive robust trading controls
- Workflow management platforms
- Pricing risk and booking systems
Skills And Experience We Are Looking For
- Solid industry experience programming in Java Python and Shell scripting in a Linux/UNIX environment with proven ability to write high-quality production-ready code.
- Ability to independently gather requirements design technical specifications and architect robust solutions including proficiency with UML.
- Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and evaluate strategic solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Familiarity with common design patterns Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated passion for improving code quality maintainability and system reliability.
- Enthusiastic proactive and driven individual with a high degree of attention to detail particularly in software controls.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree / Masters degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related field
- Deep understanding of control design principles (e.g. preventative detective corrective controls segregation of duties) and their application in complex financial systems.
- Proven ability to translate business and operational risks into effective technical control requirements and design robust mitigation strategies.
- Strong ability to assess the system-wide impact of control implementations ensuring architectural consistency integrity and adherence to enterprise standards.
- Experience in a hands-on front-office development role
- Basic web development experience including the ability to build simple React applications.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin is a plus
