PURPOSE

The Development Officer is responsible for providing support for leadership annual gifts. Reporting to the Executive Associate Vice President of Development the Development Officer will identify cultivate solicit and steward leadership annual giving prospects to promote the acquisition of gifts. This position will work closely with the entire Development and Institutional Advancement team to ensure coordination among individual giving programs.

DESCRIPTION

Functional Area 1: Development

Percent Effort: 50%

Job Duties

  • Manage portfolio of annual gift level prospects.
  • Responsible for identification cultivation solicitations and stewardship of leadership annual gifts (ranging from $1000 to $9999).
  • Work with the Executive Associate Vice President of Development to qualify and identify prospects for potential major gift solicitations.
  • Coordinate with Assistant Director of Donor Engagement on donor stewardship and recognition.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Functional Area 2: Engagement

Percent Effort: 30%

Job Duties

  • Coordinate with Director of Annual Giving to support respective events and programming.
  • Attend and assist at designated University and Institutional Advancement events.
  • Act as a liaison between Institutional Advancement and external community organizations to promote giving and university programming.
  • Participate in key community organizations and attend key community events as determined by University priorities and departmental goals.

Functional Area 3: Administrative

Percent Effort: 20%

Job Duties

  • Record and document in a timely and accurate manner contacts with donors and prospective donors.
  • Perform all other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and manage details within the broader vision of the University.
  • Ability to maintain clear accurate records and timely reports.
  • Ability to work some night and weekend hours.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters degree in a related field.
  • Two (2) years of experience in fundraising.
  • Previous experience in alumni relations development individual fundraising annual giving or event management.
  • Experience working in higher education.

SALARY: up to $55000/annually approximately.

  • $4583.34/monthly.
