Boston Dynamics seeks a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior SQA Engineer to lead the quality assurance execution and automation efforts for the Atlas Humanoid this pivotal role you will be responsible for designing and maintaining the core regression suite contributing high-quality code to the shared automation framework and ensuring the technical rigor of testing across complex robotics systems.
To be successful in this role you will require a blend of advanced coding skill deep domain knowledge and meticulous execution. You will be the technical expert for SQA execution driving the creation of quality evidence for releases and acting as a key contributor to the release management process. Your contributions will directly determine the stability and readiness of Atlass foundational software systems.
Test & Automation Design: Design develop and maintain the comprehensive manual and automated overall regression test suite focusing on integration stability.
Automation Contribution: Apply strong coding abilities to contribute new architecturally sound test modules and libraries to the core automation framework.
Release Contribution & Reporting: Contribute heavily to generating detailed Test Execution Reports for major milestones and releases clearly documenting coverage and communicating quality status to the manager and development teams.
Release Management Execution: Be responsible for the teams execution of the full regression test suite before each release to ensure high quality for major deployments.
Mentorship & Guidance: Provide technical guidance code review and mentorship to Junior SQA Engineers ensuring high standards for their daily validation test design and test automation contribution.
Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and gaps in the SQA process and testing coverage driving continuous improvement in execution efficiency and reliability.
5-7 years of experience in Software QA Engineering Test Automation or Software Development with a history of shipping and supporting product releases.
Prior experience with testing software on hardware systems such as robotics automotive or embedded devices.
Proficient in test automation with a strong base in Python or a similar language.
Expertise in designing comprehensive test plans and executing functional integration and regression testing with strong manual rigor.
Expertise in Defect Lifecycle Management using defect tracking systems (e.g. Jira) for precise defect reporting verification and analysis.
Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and experience integrating and monitoring automated tests within continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI).
Experience with safety-critical systems or real-time control systems testing.
Operational familiarity with a Linux development environment e.g. shell scripting.
Experience with Root Cause Analysis on complex cross-functional system failures.
The pay range for this position is between $99544 to $136887 annually. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including but not limited to internal equity job related knowledge skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
