Job Summary
A highly regarded secondary school in Southampton is seeking a creative enthusiastic and dedicated Art Teacher to join their thriving Creative Arts department. This is a full-time permanent position starting ASAP suitable for both experienced practitioners and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking to develop their skills within a supportive and innovative environment.
About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the potential to teach KS5 depending on specialism. You will be responsible for planning preparing and delivering inspiring lessons that develop students creative and technical skills encourage experimentation and foster a love of the subject. The role also involves supporting departmental displays participating in exhibitions and contributing to extracurricular art initiatives such as clubs competitions and workshops.

Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging Art lessons across KS3/4 (KS5 optional)
Develop students technical and creative abilities
Use a range of teaching strategies to cater for diverse learning needs
Assess monitor and track student progress
Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
Support exhibitions displays and extracurricular opportunities
Experience and Qualifications
Degree in Art or a related discipline
PGCE or QTS
Experience teaching secondary Art across KS3/4 (KS5 desirable)
Strong classroom management and organisational skills
Creative enthusiastic and committed to inspiring students
