The school is seeking an experienced and committed SENCO to lead SEND provision and drive inclusive practice.
The SENCO will oversee the strategic and operational management of SEND provision.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing SEND provision across the school
Developing and reviewing EHCPs and support plans
Liaising with parents and external agencies
Monitoring student progress and intervention impact
Training staff on inclusive teaching strategies
Managing a team of teaching assistants
Ensuring statutory compliance
Overseeing access arrangements for exams
Supporting safeguarding processes
Contributing to whole-school improvement plans
The role requires leadership capability strong organisation and detailed knowledge of SEND legislation.
The SENCO works closely with the Safeguarding Lead Pastoral Leaders and senior leadership to ensure students receive holistic support.
Qualified Teacher Status (where required)
National Award for SENCO (or willingness to complete)
Experience managing SEND provision
Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice
Leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication ability
Commitment to inclusion and student progress
