Job Summary
JOB TITLE: IT Infrastructure Analyst (Linux AS400 AIX) L2 Indore India
JOB PURPOSE:
IT Infrastructure Analyst is a key member of the Offshore Operations Delivery Centre responsible for managing and supporting enterprise server infrastructure across Linux AS400 and AIX platforms. The role focuses on ensuring operational stability infrastructure compliance and process automation while providing L1L2 support and contributing to continuous improvement of systems and documentation.
QUALIFICATION: Engineering Degree (Computers / Electronics)
CERTIFICATIONS:
Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) IBM Certified System Administrator AIX or IBM iSeries certifications are preferred.
AI-related training or certification will be considered an added advantage.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 58 years of hands-on experience in Linux (RedHat/CentOS/Ubuntu) AS400 and AIX
RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDES ALL TASKS):
Key Responsibilities
- System Administration & Support
- Manage and maintain Linux (RedHat/CentOS) AS400 (IBM iSeries) and AIX systems across production and non-production environments.
- Provide L2-level support for server infrastructure including troubleshooting performance tuning and patching.
- Responsible for managing system health capacity and performance.
- Understanding of monitoring tools such as SolarWinds Manage Engine Dynatrace etc
- Infrastructure Operations
- Implement and manage virtualization platforms (e.g. VMware PowerVM).
- Coordinate software upgrades hotfixes and kernel updates across platforms.
- Maintain high availability and disaster recovery configurations.
- Automation & Scripting
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Bash or PowerShell.
- Support configuration management using tools like Ansible or Puppet.
- Security & Compliance
- Ensure systems are compliant with internal and external audit requirements.
- Implement security hardening measures and vulnerability remediation.
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (network storage application) to resolve incidents and implement changes.
- Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations SOPs and change logs.
TECHNICAL SKILLS /COMPETENCIES:
MANDATORY
Infrastructure Knowledge
Familiar with enterprise components like Active Directory DNS DHCP LDAP
Virtualization
Proficient in VMware PowerVM; exposure to containerization (Docker K8s)
Scripting & Automation
Strong scripting using Bash Python PowerShell; config management via Ansible or Puppet
Monitoring & Performance
Experience with tools like SolarWinds or Nagios performance tuning & alerts
Backup & Storage
Familiarity with Veritas Veeam NetBackup; understanding of enterprise storage systems
Security Patching
Deploy and manage patch repositories (Manage Engine Red Hat Satellite SUSE Manager etc.)
Define sync schedules approval workflows and deployment groups
Configure baselines and compliance policies for the patch level
Security & Compliance
System hardening vulnerability remediation and knowledge of audit requirements
Documentation & SOPs
Ability to draft clear SOPs and maintain infrastructure documentation
Cloud Exposure (Nice to Have)
AWS Azure hybrid infrastructure models
OPTIONAL
- Administration knowledge in HPUX
- Experience with AI-based implementation or support will be considered an added advantage.
