Technology & Operations

Technology & Operations(T&O)is responsible forthe firms worldwide operations across all asset classes and geographies. The operational functions are aligned with clients products fundstructuresand ourThird-partyprovider networks.Within T&OGlobal Investment Operations(GIO)is responsible forthe development of the firms operating infrastructure to support BlackRocks investment businesses worldwide. GIO spans Trading & Market Documentation Transaction Management Collateral Management & Payments Asset Servicing including Corporate Actions and Cash & Asset Operations and Securities Lending Operations. GIO provides operational service to BlackRocks Portfolio Managers and Traders globallyas well asindustry leadingservice to our end clients.

GIO Engineering

Working in close partnership with GIO business users and other technology teams throughout BlackrockGIO Engineeringis responsible fordeveloping and providing data and software solutionsthatsupport GIO business processesglobally.GIO Engineering solutions combinetechnologydata and domainexpertiseto drive exception-based function-agnosticservice-orientatedworkflows data pipelines and management dashboards.

The Role DataEngineering

Work to date has been focused on building out robust data pipelines and lakes relevanttospecific business functions along with associated pools and Tableau /PowerBIdashboards for internal BlackRock clients. The next stage in the project involvesAzure / Snowflake integration and commercializing the offeringso BlackRocks 150 Aladdin clientscanleveragethe same curated data products and dashboards that are available internally.

The successful candidatewillcontribute tothe technicaldesign and delivery ofa curated line of data products related pipelines and visualizationsin collaboration with SMEsacrossGIOTechnology and Operations and the Aladdin business.

Responsibilities

Specifically we expect the role toinvolve thefollowingcore responsibilitiesand would expect a successful candidate to be able todemonstratethe following (not in order of priority)

• Designdevelop andmaintaina Data Analytics Infrastructure

• Work with a project manager or drivethe project management ofteam deliverables

• Work with subject matter expertsand usersto understand the business and their requirements. Helpdeterminetheoptimaldataset and structure to deliver on those user requirements

• Work within astandard data / technology deployment workflow to ensure that alldeliverablesandenhancements areprovidedin a disciplined repeatableand robust manner

• Work withteam leadtounderstand and helpprioritize the teams queueofwork

• Automate periodic(daily/weekly/monthly/Quarterly or other)reportingprocessestominimize /eliminateassociated developer BAU activities.

• Leverage industry standard and internal tooling whenever possiblein order toreduce the amount of custom code that requires maintenance

Experience

• 3 years of experience in writing ETL data curation and analytical jobs usingHadoop-baseddistributed computingtechnologies:Spark/PySpark Hiveetc.

• 3years of knowledge and Experience ofworking with large enterprise databasespreferably Cloud bases data bases/ data warehouses like Snowflake on Azure or AWS set-up

• Knowledge and ExperienceinworkingwithData Science/Machine/ Gen AILearningframeworks inPythonAzure/openAI meta tec.

• Knowledge and Experiencebuilding reporting and dashboards using BITools:TableauMSPowerBI etc.

• Prior Experience working on Source Code version Management tools likeGITHubetc.

• Prior experience working with and followingAgile-based workflow paths andticket-based development cycles

• Prior Experience setting-up infrastructure and working on Big Data analytics

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect organize analyse anddisseminatesignificant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

• Experience working withSMEs /Business Analystsandworking withStakeholdersforsign-off
