The role

The Senior Manager Remediation Sites leads complex contaminated land and remediation projects across NSW. The role provides expert scientific and technical advice oversees investigations and remediation programs and ensures compliance with environmental legislation and industry best practice.

You will lead a small team manage environmental contractors collaborate with consultants and auditors and deliver high-quality outcomes within budget and time constraints.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop best-practice procedures guidelines and templates for contaminated land and remediation work
  • Provide specialist environmental and scientific advice to guide decision-making
  • Lead the development of innovative and cost-effective remediation solutions
  • Manage and mentor a professional site remediation team
  • Review contractor reports for scientific accuracy and quality
  • Oversee contaminated site assessments due diligence investigations and remediation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation including the Contaminated Land Management Act 1997
  • Work collaboratively with consultants contractors auditors and government stakeholders

What you will bring to the role

  • Strong expertise in contaminated land remediation environmental science or hydrogeology
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific information clearly to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and experience managing high-performing teams
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work under pressure
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills across government and industry

Essential Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in environmental science geology hydrogeology or a related discipline
  • A current and valid NSW Driver Licence
  • Willingness to travel across NSW to project sites
