We are searching for a detail-oriented and dependable Claims Clerk to support our Sacramento based clients growing claims team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment enjoys administrative accuracy and is committed to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced healthcare setting. This position offers the opportunity to build hands-on experience in claims processing while contributing to a supportive accuracy-focused team. This is a contract role for 3 months and may be extended depending on business needs.
- Pay range is $20-$22/hr. (DOE)
- 100% onsite Mon-Fri
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes organizes and prepares claims and related documents for scanning uploading and review.
- Performs data entry error correction and quality checks to ensure accurate and timely claims handling.
- Maintains filing systems daily logs and reports to support departmental tracking and compliance.
- Handles electronic submissions including uploading EDI files monitoring failed claims and resolving discrepancies.
- Provides administrative support by answering calls verifying member eligibility and preparing correspondence.
- Adheres to company policies compliance standards and performance expectations while participating in ongoing professional development.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrates strong communication active listening and analytical thinking in daily tasks.
- Applies sound judgment confidentiality practices and discretion when handling sensitive information.
- Manages multiple priorities effectively through solid time-management organization and follow-through.
- Learns new software quickly and utilizes intermediate-level Microsoft Office skills to support operations.
- Works independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Meets role expectations through reliability problem-solving ability and commitment to organizational goals.
