Job Summary:
The Assistant Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of assigned nursing area(s) in order to facilitate and deliver comprehensive quality nursing care and to manage the environment in which care is given. The Assistant Nurse Manager prioritizes tasks for nursing staff resolves staffing issues and problems assists with goals planning customer service standards certification and accreditation administrative and budget management personnel resource management communication and quality activities. Ensures adherence to hospital or department and university policies and to nursing policies procedures standards and practices. The Assistant Nurse Manager exemplifies the Upstate mission vision and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Nursing or a Masters degree in Nursing is required. NYS Licensed/Registered (or eligible) RN required. Two years of post-licensure acute care RN experience (preferably in a specialty area) is required. CPR-BLS successfully completed by the time of the written/oral communication organizational and interpersonal skills required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Nursing Leadership certification is strongly preferred. Prior leadership experience preferred.
Work Days:
Day/Evening; Monday through Friday; no weekends/holidays; 10 hour shifts available
