Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED) provides skilled nursing care to patients in a fast-paced environment. This role involves assessing patients administering medications assisting with procedures and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The position requires strong clinical skills critical thinking and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Assist physicians with procedures and examinations.
- Monitor patient vital signs and response to treatment.
- Document patient care accurately and completely.
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Respond to emergency situations and initiate appropriate interventions.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Department setting.
- ACLS BLS PALS and TNCC certifications.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department.
Special Considerations:

- No on-call requirement.
- No floating requirement.
- RTO (Request Time Off) restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.
- Client may call-off up to 36 hours per thirteen week assignment without pay.
Scheduling:
- 3x12-hour shifts per week.
- 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
- Friday Saturday and Sunday schedule.
