Our Connected Aviation group is seeking qualified summer interns to join our elite Air Traffic Systems (ATS) team. This is your chance to contribute to the cutting-edge Wide-Area Augmentation System (WAAS) developed by the FAA a pivotal element in the transition from ground-based to satellite-based navigation. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated enthusiastic and able to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment. This role is onsite in Fullerton California. This role may be eligible for relocation.

What You Will Do:

• You will work in a team environment to design code test document and deliver new/modified functionality.
• You will coordinate with developers testers release engineers and engineers from other disciplines (e.g. Systems Hardware) to ensure successful integration with other software components.

What You Will Learn:

• You will gain hands-on experience in software integration testing and compliance with industry standards like DO-178B. Develop documentation skills vital for comprehensive software engineering knowledge.
• You will engage in cutting-edge SBAS development with elite Software Engineers building your knowledge and skills in aerospace technology and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• You will take flight in the design development and verification of operational software laying a solid foundation for advancement in aerospace.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelors or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
• U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with C or similar programming languages structured programming and software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Unix/Linux-based development environment.
• Knowledge of software testing and source code debugging.
• Rising junior or rising senior.
• Pursuing Science Technology Engineering or Mathematical (STEM) degree.

The salary range for this role is 42000 USD - 88000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer including but not limited to the role function and associated responsibilities a candidates work experience location education/training and key skills.
